Public Transportation

This one is for anyone who lives in a city that requires a large amount of subway and bus use.

I live in NYC and every morning I take the one train from 86th and Broadway and have to ride it all the way down to Rector Street which is at the tip of Manhattan. Every morning I am hurded into the subway by people in suits, students with backpacks and old people with canes! Once I am on the train, I am then pushed into the middle of the car where ten thousand other people are gasping for air and some room. I understand that the subway is great because it is supposed to cut down on traffic but there is still traffic, pedestrian traffic and that is even worse. People are constantly violating your personal space and people touching you when they are sick and giving you their germs is not better than bumper to bumper traffic.

If the people on the subway doesn't make you annoyed enough, how about the fact that public trans is already expensive and if that is not enough, the city transit authority finds it necessary to raise costs and cut down service. Does this make sense to anyone else? I understand the economy for the government in America is not the best but how do they have the gull to charge more for less? Is that a joke? The unlimited ride in NYC is currently at $89 a month. The city is now increasing it to $104 a month and cutting down on service such as train operators and trains in general. Which means more people on the subway which means more pedestrian traffic which equals more uncomfortable situations on the way to work.

Thank you public transportation for totally abolishing the concept of cheap and efficient transportation.

Airlines!!

Everyone hates airlines! Flights are so expensive and the whole "hub" situation for airlines may be the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. I can see why an airline would be willing to have a contract with an airport but this was put in place when not many cities actually had international airports. Times are changing and airlines are not. Why should I pay $400 from NYC to Kansas City especially when I have a lay over in Chicago? How does that make sense? My travel time will be doubled because of this stupid layover and it just adds stress and the money that I spend on the ticket loses it's utility purpose once I have this layover. Airlines also don't stop there! They are not charging for every piece of luggage that you want to check! If you are going anywhere for more than a week, you add to your total cost at least $25 for the traveling. This was done by airlines to try and make up for outrageous gas prices but little do they know that gas has come down and they are still making quite a bit of money on their inflated ticket prices!! What is even worse is the people that actually pay for these bag fees. They are telling the airlines that it is ok to charge for these bags. Since people are paying for bags and the airlines are making more money off of these bags, why change right? Airlines are the greediest corporations of all!

Preface

For the longest time I have wanted to start a blog about all the things that really make me upset in the world. I feel that this would be a good way to express how I feel about certain things and be able to burn some steam at the same time. I really do not care if you enjoy this blog or not but I do think it would be cool if I got some fame out of the whole thing. If you enjoy this blog you should forward it on to anyone and everyone. Please feel free to post topics that really makes you upset and maybe we can go on a rant together. Thank you for reading this. Also, if you do not get the title of this blog, it is Peter Griffin's segment on the Quahog News where he just talks about things that makes him upset. That is where I sort of got the idea. Have a good day and if you agree or disagree or have a smart ass comment, please post it.

Thank you!
